Although I have stated this review is for ICU I also have to mention my care on Ward11 and Ward12. Ambulance crew took me into MDGH on the 28.3.2020 where I was diagnosed with covid 19.Staff on Ward 11 did everything they could but I was later moved to ICU where the decision to put me on a ventilator was taken. My family could not visit but they were kept very well informed about my condition. The day came when they were told to prepare for the worst.I cannot imagine what they went through particularly with lockdown preventing them from being with each other.
Amazing care and dedication for days from all staff saw me come off the ventilator and regain breathing for myself. The ventilator had done its job.It breathed for me so my lungs could rest and
recover.
I was moved to Ward 12 where the staff helped me to start being independent. After a few days I was said to be fit to go home.
The weakness I am experiencing is nothing I have had before.I am still breathless and the hospital are in touch daily to discuss my development. Our specialists are accumulating knowledge daily about Covid 19 and take this very seriously.
I want to thank, thank and thank the MDGH for giving me back to my family and friends. This is my positive experience of the care and dedication from all staff who work for the NHS.They are doing a great job under extreme circumstances.WE SHOULD BE VERY SUPPORTIVE AND PROUD OF OUR NHS.๐๐๐ Thankyou
"OUR AMAZING MDGH"
