I attended the Eye Casualty on the advice of my optician, as I had sustained a significant drop in my vision. The Western Eye Hospital was very helpful and thorough in the way they assessed me. After a short wait, I was then shown in to see a Consultant, who diagnosed the problem. They explained to me that it can be sorted with a short laser procedure, for which my GP could refer me to my local services. As at the current time, the Covid-19 measures mean that most planned surgery has been suspended, the doctor kindly said that, as they weren't too busy at the time of my review, they could perform the procedure for me then and there. This was extraordinarily kind, as otherwise, I could have ended up waiting for many months to have things sorted. The procedure was carried out and my vision was restored to its former level. I am extremely grateful for the extra mile that the doctor went to help me out, in these unprecedented times and putting my needs as a patient above regular procedure.
"Really great practice"
