(as a carer),

I am writing here because the feedback part of the website specifically for carers doesn't work!

My son is under North and west CMHT.

I wish to point out that despite claiming to have implemented "Triangle of care", this is not my experience.

From Livewell website;

"What are the standards?

Carers and the essential role they play should be identified at first contact with services or as soon as possible thereafter.

Staff should be aware of carers and trained to engage with carers more effectively.

Policies and protocols should be in place to ensure confidentiality and improve information sharing with carers.

Defined roles (Carer link workers), responsible for carers should be in place.

Carers should be “introduced” to the service and provided with a range of information.

A range of carer support services should be available to offer or signpost carers to."

"Staff should be aware of carers and trained to engage with carers more effectively.

Policies and protocols should be in place to ensure confidentiality and improve information sharing with carers." - I wouldn't know if staff have been trained to engage with carers more effectively , as staff have never contacted me!

"Defined roles (Carer link workers), responsible for carers should be in place. " - As above!

A range of carer support services should be available to offer or signpost carers to." - Nope!

Yes, my wife and I do have information which CMHT would find useful re the care of our son.

Dear Mr McG, I am so sorry to hear that your experiences as a carer has not been a good one and as Triangle of Care Lead I am disappointed t hear this. I have e-mailed the team leader and have asked them to contact you ASAP about your concerns. However, I have to let you know that due to Covid 19 the CMHTs and other community mental health services are under enormous pressure as many more people with mental health issues are being supported in the community at the moment, in order to free up beds to support UHP in their admissions of Covid patients. As a result, the manager may take longer than usual to respond for which I apologise. Since you say you 'have information which CMHT would find useful re the care of our son', I would advise you to contact the team directly to share any important information..Finally, if you could let me know which carers feedback link (on our website) did not work I will look into it.
