"Elderly 92 year old Mothers recent stay"

About: Good Hope Hospital / Elderly medicine

(as a relative),

Hi All, 92 Yr old Mum admitted to Good Hope Hospital, and then transferred to Ward 8, we are aware that the NHS is under tremendous pressure, however we were assured this Ward was Covid 19 free, up to yet we have the phone unanswered several times, been hung up on 4 times, spoken once to on the phone. This lady is partially sighted, partially deaf and has COPD, we have left contact numbers twice now, we have called and regularly told to call back later, only to find the phone engaged.

But that night capped it all, after being told twice to call back, eventually the phone was answered, by someone who gave us the biggest load of garbage I have ever heard, when we asked their name, they hung up, and afterwards the phone just rang out. Shocking.

I feel awful about this as the NHS does, and is doing such a brilliant job, it just saddens me that this can happen, may I say that in the main the staff have been fine, but alas, one bad apple can spoil it.
