"Injury to finger"

About: Aberdeen Royal Infirmary / Emergency Medicine Aberdeen Royal Infirmary / Plastic Surgery & Burns Aberdeen Royal Infirmary / Radiology (X-rays and Scans)

(as the patient),

I cut off the tip of my middle finger while using a mincer to make meat loaf. On arrival at A& E I was seen very quickly and all the staff were friendly and efficient, especially considering that they are dealing with at the moment. I was then taken up to ward 214 to wait until there was a theatre slot available.   Again all the staff, were lovely and couldn't do enough to make sure I had everything I needed,   and was comfortable. When my time came to get my finger stitched up I have to say I was a bit nervous but the Drs Bismark (? spelling) and Nishit explained what was going to happen and Fiona, the nurse was excellent at keeping me occupied while the procedure was happening, staying past her shift to keep me company. Thank you everyone xx

Dear Fliss68,

Many thanks for taking the time to write this about your experience in the Emergency Department. This will mean alot to the staff especially at this time. I will ensure this is shared with all the team.

I hope you are now recovering well, take care

Julie
