My dad was taken in with suspected Covid 19 last Friday and my mum last Monday. Both have sadly passed away, mum on Monday dad on Tuesday.
The treatment they received and the help given to my sister and myself from start to finish at all levels from the receptionist, to the ward and A+E staff and finally the nurse and junior doctor who where at each of our parents sides, holding their hands as they passed, was nothing more than absolutely fantastic. You all have nothing but our utmost respect and heartfelt thanks.
My sister and I are both NHS workers but I work for a different board, so unfortunately I was too far away to travel and my poor sister was left with everything to do. It all went so quickly and even though my sister lives locally, she couldn't even get there in time. We are so grateful that someone was present at the end and that it was mercifully peaceful and quick for both of them.
We appreciate all of your great work at this present difficult time, especially since we understand the current pressures and workload as fellow NHS workers and with our own involvement workwise. Stay safe and keep up the fantastic work and we will get through this together.
