(as the patient),

My community midwife provided me with the best care I could have asked for during my pregnancy, birth and post natal care. She went above and beyond in her care for my baby and I, particularly with regards to helping me to breastfeed my baby, which enhanced the whole experience for me.

The Midwife’s in the labour ward were also incredible, and I wish to thank them for their first class care - I could not have wished for a better birth or midwives.

I would have benefited from more support to breastfeed on the postnatal ward, or for someone to have supported me there. However, as noted, my community midwife and health visitor later supported me - but I may have had more confidence and skill had this been available before going home.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback with us. I am delighted your community midwife was such a good support to you and also your midwife in Labour ward. Please accept my apologies that you felt let down with the help with feeding during your stay in the ward. Staff do try to support with feeding and ensure you are confident prior to going home, but appreciate this did not happen for you. By receiving feedback both positive and negative this enables us as a team to make improvements with our care of women. I will share your feedback with all the areas so they are aware.

I’m delighted that your community midwife and health visitor supported you and your baby once you came home
