I've always been happy with my surgery, the doctors are professional and informative whilst still being kind and always happy to answer any questions i may have. I've never really had any issues with getting a same day phone consultation and needs be same day appointment to see the doctor - although i would say it would be nice to be able to book doctors appointments in advance and not everything is a same day emergency and therefore some issues can be forgotten or put on a backseat as you forget to call in the morning. My only negative experience was because I had a persistent Vulva issue (about 2 years) that was continually diagnosed as thrush even though the results came back negative and the treatments never worked, the only reason i finally saw a gynaecologist was because my smear test came back abnormal so i was able to mention the Vulva issue then and they took biopsies there and then which came back with VIN 3 high level cell changes. If i didn't have an abnormal cervical smear i don't know if my GP would have ever refereed me and this may have turned into cancer by the time i was given treatment. I don't completely blame my GP like i said for everything else they've been great BUT i do think this is a issue across the country that GPs and nurses are not trained in Vulva issues and cancers and therefore woman aren't being treated early enough. I'll end on a happy note! I had a blood test today and the nurse was lovely and chatty, i don't have a needle phobia but if i did she would have put me right at ease! Always nice to have a friendly face and chat at an appointment :)
