"Cardiac event"

About: Forth Valley Royal Hospital / Cardiology Scottish Ambulance Service / Ambulance Control Centre Scottish Ambulance Service / Emergency Ambulance

(as a relative),

My dad became unwell at home and as a family we responded.   Dad had some cardiac symptoms,   ambulance control were excellent,   giving appropriate advice and ambulance arrived promptly.   Ambulance crew were amazing not only doing their job brilliantly but also putting dad at ease and dealing with anxious family.   Dad was transferred immediately to Edinburgh royal infirmary for a stent and he was cared for excellently there also.   He is currently in cardiology at fvrh in safe hands.   My dad and our whole family want to thank everyone who had any dealings in his care.   You are all amazing.

Dear Ail,

Thank you so much for taking the time to share your feedback with us all on CareOpinion. I am so sorry to hear that your father had a cardiac event and required the services of ourselves and our partners in NHS Scotland. This must have been quite a frightening experience for yourselves, particularly with everything else that is going on just now.

I am however really pleased to hear that he is recovering at FVRH after the introduction of a stent. I always think these teams at the coronary care units providing PPCI are incredible! It is so nice during our current situation to get some nice feedback. All of our frontline staff from our call handlers, crews, fleet maintenance teams, cleaners, dispatchers etc are all in a very new world at the moments and it is a flurry of emotions. Hearing these kind words reminds us all just how important it all is.

I wish you all the very best and stay safe!

Kind Regards

Alan

Dear Ali,

It's great to hear that your dad is doing well. It's a pleasure to be involved in his care. We are delighted that the service worked just as it should and his care was coordinated across Forth Valley and Lothian with the help of the fantastic Scottish Ambulance Service.

We really appreciate your feedback. And thank you for reminding people that despite ourccurrent challenges relating to coronavirus we continue to provide great care for patients with heart symptoms including heart attacks. We hope your Dad continues to go from strength to strength. Thank you again for your kind words.

With best wishes

Catherine
