"Suspected COV 19"

About: Devon Doctors Ltd / NHS 111 South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust / Emergency ambulance

(as a service user),

Rang 111 for advice spoke to two different   people   last person a nurse talked through my symptoms and decided to get me checked by paramedics. A following call from another person also checking my symptoms who still decided to get me checked.

So paramedics arrive.   They were two of them. The first one just took one look at me and just started laying into me. I felt so poorly at this point as well.  They said That I have risked the life of themselves and their co worker   by me calling them!   The reason I had called them was   because my breathing had got worse   They then said to me that they are only taking people to hosp who are dying at the moment!

I certainly didn’t want to go to hosp. I was scared and needed to be checked     They made me so upset The first paramedic was brutal in their words to me   seeing as I was so poorly. I understand they work extremely hard and are under immense pressure at the moment   But their words and the way they acted has made me so anxious and frightened to ever maybe call 111 again.   I actually had spoken to my doctor earlier in the day who said if my breathing got worse to call 111   that is what I did.   I feel so so upset about how the paramedic was to me. It has really put me off ever calling for help. And it’s not something I would ever normally do   it’s also the fact that I am an Asthmatic so I have been very frightened of ‘‘tis awful disease
