At 3:30pm yesterday I submitted an econsult about my son’s flu symptoms and ear ache, by 4:40 the surgery had called and prescribed antibiotics, sending the prescription to the pharmacy directly. The surgery’s speed combined with the pharmacist willingly running the antibiotics to our house by 5pm meant my son had 2 doses before bedtime. For the first time in 3 nights he slept the night through and woke with no temperature. It’s gone back up again but last night showed a break in the pattern, whether it’s the amoxicillin or just the course of the virus I dont know, but I’m very grateful indeed that they phoned so quickly.
