My 99 year old mother spent just over a week at Tonbridge Cottage following a hip replacement at Pembury. As elsewhere in the NHS, understaffing is an issue, but she received excellent care and attention from the well motivated team. The hospital itself has an ‘old fashioned’ feel to it but it’s atmosphere and 8-10 bed ward system is a positive for the mostly elderly ladies on my mother’s Somerhill ward.
If you have a relative who is either in the hospital, or is about to be transferred there, you can be confident that they’ll be well cared for.
