My 70yr old father is a patient at this surgery and there is one doctor in particular that would benefit from some patient care training and how to speak to elderly patients. My father was shouted at by the GP after he had difficulty with speaking to a GP with regards to his medication and the reception staff kept cutting him off when he called the surgery. I called on his behalf to complain about his treatment and why a GP would call and leave a message on a land line when my father doesn't have one only the same mobile number that the surgery has contacted him on since he joined. The supervisor who I spoke to said thanks for the feedback and she would get a GP to call my father. when the GP called to speak to my father she was rude and shouted at him for getting a relative to telephone on his behalf saying he should wait and not cause her problems. My father is now frightened that he will continue to receive this treatment going forward. Please train your GPs there are a number of resources out there to train our staff for free within the NHS.
