"Day surgery"

About: Crosshouse Hospital / Day Surgery Crosshouse Hospital / Trauma & orthopaedics

(as the patient),

I was feeling extremely nervous about my shoulder surgery and on my arrival I was met by a nurse called Sharon. Sharon was just lovely, reassuring me and putting up with all my worries. Meeting my anaesthetist Julie, I can’t tell you how kind she was, explaining everything I needed to know, reassuring me and promising to keep me asleep. I can’t describe how grateful I was for her care and professionalism. The ladies in theatre who spoke to me, held my hand and were just so kind and compassionate whilst I was panicking. The ladies and gentleman in recovery who were also so kind and helpful. Finally to my surgeon Mr Tanagho, having met him once before I felt totally confident in his ability and knowledge. I’m so grateful for all of these staff members, they provided a service above and beyond and helped a very nervous patient get through a difficult day.   They are all a credit to our NHS.
