I am a cardiac patient and was experiencing worrying symptoms. I dialled 999 and was kindly and efficiently spoken to by the call handler who arranged for an ambulance to transport me to hospital. The paramedics Mark and Linda were professional, compassionate and kind. On arrival at A&E l was efficiently triaged and was seen by a HCA, Lilly, who took blood, inserted a venflon, did an ECG and arranged a everything ready for the doctor, Sarah.
I was then transferred to main A&E dept where l was seen by another doctor and then a consultant. I was treated and managed very well and efficiently. Even the young man who gave me tea and biscuits gave me more 'for later'.
I was transferred to AMU where my care and management was impeccable considering how busy the staff were. In particular Staff nurses Georgia and Millie were 'the best nurses' and again professional and caring, and all staff from HCA to cleaner were kind, caring and efficient. The AMU consultant Dr Gupta was lovely and also very professional and efficient and arranged for me to see the cardiologist on call. He again listened to my history and examined me and discussed me with the on-call consultant.
I was discharged home to see my usual Cardiologist 2 days later.
10/10 all round! Much improved from admissions l experienced a few years ago.
"My care and management was impeccable"
