"Amazing Surgery"

About: National Hospital for Neurology & Neurosurgery - Queen Square

The appointments prior to surgery were either on time or if there was a delay you were told as soon as you registered and the delay was NO longer than the time given. I never saw staff just standing around. Everyone was friendly and polite.

The surgeon and his team did a fantastic job and the medical after care was excellent. The anaesthetist also did an extremely good job - first time I have never had after effects. I don’t believe that one would have received better anywhere else.

I arrived in pain and with walking difficulties and walked out feeling that I had a new life ahead of me.

The downside of the hospital is that the food really is dreadful. I have a food allergy which wasn’t picked up. In week one I found a couple of dishes I could eat by week two they were no longer available. I could go on. This and hygiene on the ward needs addressing. The bathrooms were dirty. The flooring needs repair and the toilets don’t flush properly. The cleaners don’t look at what they are doing nor do they move things. Things that are dropped can remain on the floor for several days.

Overall, thank you so much for my treatment and care. The skill of the staff is second to none. I now feel fantastic and I know that I still have a long road to travel.
