I had been on the waiting list to see a psychiatrist for a while, and was very nervous about my appointment when it came about. Thankfully, Dr Sufraz was extremely welcoming and friendly, and within ten minutes I went from being noticeably agitated to being able to speak about difficult subject matter in high spirits and good humour.
Dr Sufraz created a space in which I felt like I could have an open and honest discussion without judgement, and most importantly to me, he never failed to take me and my issues seriously.
I have experienced some issues with mental health professionals with regard to this in the past, so I'm very pleased that in this assessment, my opinion on my own mental health was treated with the appropriate amount of importance, and conclusions were reached by consensus.
I can't overstate the significance of this higher standard of care on my level of comfort during the assessment, I didn't even notice the time pass before 2.5 hours were up! Excellent, excellent service.
