"Without exception, everyone was friendly and helpful"

I recently moved from Manchester to the Scottish Borders and, as I have poor health, I was worried about leaving behind health care professionals I had confidence in.

My concerns were unfounded as the Consultants and Urology Nurse Specialist I have seen at the Borders General are first class. 

I have seen Kate, Consultant Gynaecologist, who was kind, approachable, knowledgeable and inspires confidence. I was really impressed by her speedy review of my care and medication. I am grateful to be her patient.

Her colleague Meg, Urology Nurse Specialist, could not have been more helpful in ensuring that medication was forwarded to my GP. She was supportive and helpful and provided a number to call her should I need any advice/support.

Another Consultant I saw, Jamie, General Surgical Consultant, was equally kind, approachable and knowledgeable. My husband commented on his friendly and ‘human’ approach.

Without exception, everybody I had contact with at the Borders General were friendly and helpful. I think that people are often quick to complain but don’t always praise NHS staff and express gratitude for the excellent service they provide.
