"Professional and friendly staff helped me through endoscopy"

About: Aberdeen Health and Care Village / Endoscopy

(as the patient),

Have been having stomach problems for last 3 months. Doctor ordered several tests including an endoscopy.

I was very nervous and worried about endoscopy. The doctor that carried out procedure was fantastic. Nurses were reassuring and one held my hand throughout. This all made such a difference. Very impressed with the care I received. I had to call back endoscopy clinic at Aberdeen Community Health Village as due to my nerves I had forgotten to tell them I had not stopped taking omeprazole for the two weeks prior to endoscopy.. Again staff were reassuring, told me that my normal results I got would not be affected by not stopping omeprazole.

Thank you to all the staff.

Dear Jock59,

I’m so glad to hear the friendly endoscopy team at the Health Village were reassuring and that you were impressed with the care you received. The team pride themselves on the person-centred care they provide and try hard to make what can be a difficult appointment much less so.

They have had a few staff changes recently which is why I’m responding to you from the Quality Improvement & Assurance Team but your story has been shared with them.

Thank you for getting in touch.

Take care,

Kirsten
