I arrived on Midgley via A&E with a lung infection. I was very poorly and weak, and was there for 9 days.
Throughout that time everyone on the ward cared for me as if I was a family member. Apart from the medication and treatment I needed, cups of tea were made for me whenever I wanted one, they fed me to within bursting point, my room was cleaned within an inch of its life every day and everyone had such empathy, not just with me, I heard them dealing with some extremely sick and elderly patients and they reassured them by explaining everything they were doing.
The NHS may not be what it once was but those at the coal face are the heroes keeping it going.
I can't thank Midgley enough...what a team you all are.
