Whilst on a weekend break in Bournemouth I developed a UTI. The pain and amount of blood I was passing was unbearable. Turned up at A&E about midnight on Friday night. The lady on reception was absolutely lovely. The wait for triage was brief, no more than quarter of an hour I should think. From there I was taken straight through to the assessment ward where I waited maybe ten minutes to be seen. After bloods were taken and pain relief organised I was sent to the 'fit to sit' area. Once again the nurse there was so kind and caring, I felt really looked after. Eventually I saw the Dr who prescribed antibiotics. Unfortunately the ones prescribed did not clear the infection I had, but without proper cultures being grown it would be impossible to know that. The treatment I received was absolutely first class and I would like to thank everyone on duty on Friday night/Saturday morning, 28 to 29 February. Although my problem wasn't cured, the pain was managed and I was able to enjoy the rest of the weekend. Whatever these lovely people get paid, it isn't enough. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
