Booked in for an induction and this is my first baby, not seen for nearly 2 hours and then told too few midwives so will be left for another day, Then told to go home, get in car and told to come back and when i get back to ward told sorry go home again we will call you in the middle of the night, midwife was apologetic stating we are understaffed and there are urgent cases coming in which is understandable but i feel totally let down. Left hanging and mucked about. 12 days overdue and made to go up and down like a yoyo. I knew the NHS was under pressure but come on treat women with a little dignity. I was even asked why i asked for clean bed linen after sitting in blood for 4 hours and don't get me started on the food, it was awful, inedible and cold. I don't blame the staff who are overworked but they do get the brunt of it because they are the ones having to make the decisions. Im now at home wondering if my baby will live or die which is sad in 2020.
"too few staff "
