"Extremely poor service"

About: Heartlands Hospital / Accident and emergency

(as a parent/guardian),

Recently my daughter collapsed whilst at work.  An ambulance called and they took her to heartlands. She was in severe pain with her stomach and when going to toilet was passing blood in her stool.

She sat in the waiting area from 12. 30 pm until she was seen at 18. 35 pm in utter agony to be told by the doctor she had heartburn and that’s without examining her properly. Then sarcastically asked my daughter if she could understand what they were saying.

She would not collapse with heartburn. I will be complaining higher than this and going to the Local Government Ombudsmen about the behaviours and attitude and most of all duty of care in this hospital.

The nurse would not give us the doctors name.  The doctor's attitude was appalling. Also the nurse decided to argue with my daughter about how long she had been waiting absolutely disgusting.

Dear Kazzy

I am truly sorry to read your posting; however I am very grateful to you for taking the time to do so, as I appreciate that it must have been very difficult for you to write under the circumstances.

I am sorry to learn that you found your experience and the way your daughter was treated to be very distressing. I am concerned about this and would like the opportunity to look into this in more detail, I would require some additional information from you.

Can I please ask you to contact our Patient Services on 0121 424 0808 or by email: bhs-tr.Complaints-ConcernsandCompliments@nhs.net I do hope this is acceptable and thank you for providing your comments, patient experience is very important to us.

Kind regards
