"Excellent service"

Underwent total hip replacement - from arrival on day of admission to discharge every contact with any member of staff was a good experience - all staff from Consultant to Cleaners were knowledgeable, approachable, helpful, friendly and professional. All aspects well co-ordinated and efficient - food a great standard too. A calm atmosphere throughout - in particular it was patently obvious that staff seemed happy in their work. Certainly not as manic as in other NHS hospitals. The Consultant saw me and explained how he would perform the operation and the type of prosthesis he would use. He came back to see me later in the evening before he left for home to explain how the op had gone and to answer any questions I had - he rang the next day to check all was well and then called in again later in the evening. The Anaesthetist was calming and explained the procedure for the spinal anaesthesia and the recovery room staff were attentive and friendly. I was very fearful and apprehensive before my op and every member of staff showed patience and understanding in trying to alleviate my concerns.
