About: Borders General Hospital / Intensive & Critical Care Borders General Hospital / Trauma & orthopaedics (Ward 9)

(as the patient),

Never before in a long life lived in several countries, have I experienced such highly efficient, highly professional, care delivered with such compassion, warmth, and humour, that I have received at Borders General Hospital.

Last week I spent five days between the ITU unit and Ward 9, following some tricky orthopaedic surgery performed by Mr Wong. Every single staff member impressed with the standards of care; I felt absolutely safe, reassured, and as comfortable as possible. The entire experience was as different as can be imagined from that of the impersonal, noisy, frazzled, and barely-contained frenzy of a busy London teaching hospital!

I would like to take this opportunity to thank BGH for restoring my faith in the National Health Service; we on the Scottish Borders are very blessed to have you and your wonderful people in our community.
