"I would have liked some written information"

About: Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust - Ropewalk House / Ear, Nose and Throat

(as the patient),

The audiologist I saw was very pleasant and knowledgeable. I would have valued written information to support the conversation, which was rather an information overload.

So much was said during the appointment that I haven’t been able to remember most of it. I think the gist was that there’s nothing that can be done about tinnitus so try not to think about it.

Thank you for taking the time to get in touch and for sharing your experience with us. I’m sorry to read that you didn’t receive enough information to take away with you and the department will take this on board and review what written information we have and when it is given out to patients.

I would also like to invite you back for a follow up appointment as there is plenty that can be done to support patients with their tinnitus and we would never intend to give the impression that patients just had to get on with it.

If you would like to come back please get in touch on 0115 919 4488 or email audiology@nuh.nhs.uk so we can arrange a further appointment with you.

Best wishes

Claire Benton
Head of Audiology
