I had minor surgery as a day case 3 weeks ago.
A arrived as instructed at 11am.... was seen fairly quickly by the nurse, anaesthetist then surgeon.... taken to theatre at 2pm and woken up in recovery at 3pm.
Everything went smoothly, everything was explained clearly.
Unfortunately the ward was very busy and there was no space for me after recovery but the the nurse in theatre recovery was great !!
I spent 3hrs there until a bed was ready in the ward.... I was only in the ward ten minutes.... long enough to get dressed and then left for home.
My only complaint is despite being measured for the thromboembolic stockings... I was discharged with 3 pairs all different sizes (one pair I cant even get my feet into). Fortunately I am a nurse and was able to source the correct size from a colleague. On the whole a good experience being on the other side of health care.
"Everything went smoothly"
