"Routine venesection sessions"

About: Forth Valley Royal Hospital / Day Medicine

(as the patient),

I regularly attend a day medicine clinic at Forth Valley Hospital (Larbert, Central Scotland) to have blood letting (venesection) to control my iron levels in my blood due to a genetic condition called "Haemochromatosis". This nurse led clinic is so efficient with the nurse, Catherine, carrying out the procedures, running her appointment diary and generally being caring to patients who, like me, can be very nervous of the procedure. What a nice touch to see the same nurse each time as you build up confidence and rapport with her. Well done Catherine & Forth Valley Hospital whom I hope value this clinic as much of the patients do.

Good afternoon Grizz,

Thank you very much for your much valued feedback on our venesection service.

It is very rewarding for us to know that our patients feel valued and feel they are getting the kind of care we strive to give.

Thank you again for taking the time to share your experience.

kind regards

Catherine
