"Worse GP Practice I've Experienced"

About: Stonehill Medical Centre

I don't want to make this a chapter and verse so to summarise:

Impossible to get an appointment which has forced me to walk-in centres on more than one occasion.

Some of the receptionists are extremely rude and unhelpful.

I am an epileptic and requested a prescription earlier than due to ensure that I had enough medication to cover my holiday abroad. After a week, I was told by the receptionist that it wasn't urgent when I enquired ON THE DAY why the prescription wasn't ready for me!

Epilepsy medication is FOREVER - epilepsy doesn't just go away, so why can I not have a prescription that covers 2 or 3 months at a time - I'm exempt from paying prescriptions so what's the difference?

As soon as I finish writing this review I'm going to find another surgery.

If you're looking on this site and thinking of attending this practice - please don't! They're impossible.

We have restructured our clinical team and now have a multi-skilled workforce to meet the needs of patients, ie Mental Health Practitioner, Musculoskeletal Practitioner and a Paramedic Practitioner. The structure of our team is designed to signpost patients to the most appropriate clinician, therefore freeing the GPs up for more complex health needs.

Early prescriptions can be ordered if we are aware of the reason, providing this is safe to do so. When our clinicians perform medication reviews they assess the suitability and safety of issuing 2 monthly prescriptions.
