"Care received at Hospital"

About: Royal Manchester Children's Hospital / Paediatrics Tameside General Hospital / Paediatrics

(as a parent/guardian),

My daughter was extremely poorly since the February 2020. I phone 111 on the second day as she was vomitting blood.

They sent an ambulance and I was taken to Manchester Children's emergency unit. They checked her and sent us home saying she has a viral. We then took her and my youngest in again on Tuesday - again they said it was viral - at this point both of them hadn't had any solids since Friday and were vomitting up the fluids that they were having aswel. We were sent home again.

We then went in again on Wednesday as their Temps were high and again a doctor checked their chest and sent them home with a viral infection! Then a week after I first rang, I rang 111 again as at this point my daughter had not eaten and was shivering and shaking constantly. Hands and feet cold and wanted the lights off all the time. They sent an ambulance and the paramedic checked them both and took us in to the same unit. At this point one of my girls was very bad and they decided to do X rays and bloods. When they did it was revealed that she had pneumonia!! They then started antibiotics through IV. We were there from 8pm and at 12.30 am they told us there were no beds and that we would have to be transferred to Tameside Hospital. We were transferred at 5am.

When we arrived at Tameside it was absolutely amazing. The night nurse who was called Emily was just so lovely. We were given the best care love and attention. The nurses in the day called Sadia and student nurse named Gemma were absolutely outstanding. They showed love care and empathy at all times. They kept on top of her observations and were monitoring her throughout. I cannot fault them.in any way. They really were so so lovely to us and my family who visited! I will never ever go to Manchester Royal Infirmary again when it comes to my kids. Tameside hospital all the way. Thank you to the children's unit for you're love. My child was so happy there.

Tameside hospital deserves all the praise as it is so under rated. I'm so grateful to Tameside as my daughter is on the mend and all the staff there deserve the recognition for their efforts love and care.

Many thanks
