Went in for a routine Colonoscopy, greeted by Rhona who went through the undressing and gowning with me, then it was off to a meeting to get all my details and explain the process plus get my sedative Cannula prep, hate needles so this was made all the better for the smoothness, well done , sorry can't remember your name but happy retirement when it comes!
A bit of a lengthy wait before the procedure but this was explained earlier that the surgeon was stuck in traffic, anyway wait over and Consultant Dr Shams came for me to take me to the room for the procedure, greeted in there by 3 very friendly nurses that I can only recall 2 of them, Senior nurses Claire and Smith.
Dr Shams explained in detail what was happening and why, then it was time for my sedative cocktail 🤪🤪, the procedure itself was painless and more comfortable than I imagined, plus I had the experience of watching what was happening, very interesting. All done then wheeled through to the recovery area for a well earned and best tasting tea and toast I've had considering no food for almost 24hrs 😲🤣.
Thank you Colonoscopy dept hopefully I won't be back!
