"Follow up appointment"

About: John Tasker House Surgery

Wanted a follow up appointment so I can be seen after my stroke and my second MRI scan. Can not get an appointment for 2 months for love or money. I asked the rude receptionist to make me an appointment in 2 months time then and she replied that she can't as the diary does not allow her too. I told her this is ridiculous and I explained once again why I need the follow up appointment. She was not symathetic and blamed on the town becoming larger and the way the surgery system works. I explained again that I need this appointment and she replied to try my luck and make a call during the week as there might be a cancelled appointment. By then my blood pressure was rising as obviously I was not getting the customer and patient care that I deserve. I said that if anything happens to me I will hold the surgery and staff directly responsible. And by that she said I tried helping you and put the phone down.

I tried using doctor link to make an appointment but this does not allow you to do this unless you have an immediate illness. I am perturbed by the attitude/ rudeness and the lack of sympathy in trying to resolve my predictament. Its almost to easy to say try calling again especially the frustration of trying to call the surgery a number of times hoping that someone will actually answer.

I do not not like the attitude and excuses and I do not like receptionist playing God with patients health. The situation was not resolved and there were no positive conclusions. Just call again and you never know attitude that's not good enough and I am really disgusted with this attitude and behaviour. It seems like a lottery to try and get a service from this surgery. This service has got worse gradually over the past 6 years. The GPs are great however the front of house is terrible. Please let me know who to contact as I am sure I would like to take this further.

Sorry you were having issues with the surgery - please can you contact the Practice Manager to discuss further
