"Inpatient stay since november"

About: University Hospital Wishaw / General Surgery (Wards 16-18)

(as a volunteer/advocate),

Ward 16. Staff brilliant. Patient been in and out 3 or 4 times.

Is allowed out on weekend pass - had various procedures and is hopefully getting out tomorrow.

Food is not great. Salad is ok but hot meals not so good.

Patient finds it difficult to sleep due to other patients being noisy. Communication with doctor very good. Understands future care plan.

Couple of minutes to wait when call buzzer used.

Dear UWH32

Thank you for your feedback in relation to your stay in ward 16.

I am sorry to hear that you were unhappy with some of the food choices on the ward and I will ensure this is feedback to out catering staff. I am also sorry that you have had a disturbed sleep due to the noise on the ward. This can be a difficult situation to resolve completely however, I am confident the staff are doing all they can to minimise any disruption to other patients.

I am glad to hear you are kept up to date and feel involved in your care plans and I will be sure to feedback your comments to the ward staff.

Best Wishes for a speedy recovery.

Kindest Regards
