About: Lanarkshire Community Services / Community Nursing Service University Hospital Monklands / Urology (Ward 6)

(as a relative),

Having battled cancer for 7 years my wife sadly passed away recently.

 

In the last weeks of her life we received wonderful support from South Lanarkshire District Nurses.  I cannot speak highly enough of the Nurses who we came to rely upon and who undoubtedly made Lynn's end of life more comfortable. They had all the skills required - reliable, professional and caring.

As a family we felt cared for and the kindness and respect shown to my wife Lynn, was more than we could ever have hoped for.

 

I would also like to thank Ward 6 at Monklands Hospital where Lynn was an all too frequent patient and again was treated so well by Doctors and Nurses.

Dear KW76

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience and let me say how sorry I am for loss of your wife Lynn.

I want to personally thank you for taking the time to share with us your experience of the district nursing team. I know that it would have been really important for the district nursing team to ensure that Lynn felt cared for and had that degree of comfort at the end of her life and that her family also received this care and kindness.

I would be more than happy to pass on your message and thanks to the district nurse team, if you wish to let me know what health centre they visited from. Again please accept my condolences and take care.

HI Lynsey,

It was the team in South Lanarkshire that cover Hamilton and Bothwell, G71 area.

The entire team was amazing but 3 stand out nurses Heather, Gillian and mostly importantly Louise. I managed to email someone in the district nursing team so hopefully they know how thankful we are already but as a family we wanted it logged on care opinion also, as all to often we give feedback on poor service but do not take the time to say thank you, officially.
