On 2 January 2020 my wife suffered a cardiac arrest in York. The call handler who answered my 999 call was extremely professional and gave me the confidence and clear instructions to perform CPR until an ambulance and 2 cars arrived several minutes later. The 4 staff worked quickly to restart my wife's heart and undertake the difficult job of getting her downstairs on a stretcher. At York Hospital she received immediate attention and was transferred to L.G.I. (Catheter Lab, Intensive Care Ward L6, L19 and L14) where all the staff who helped her were amazing. So professional, friendly and supportive. Thanks to the amazing attention she got at all stages in this traumatic event, my wife is now well on the path to a full recovery. Our N.H.S. and the people who work in it, are priceless. Thank you all again.
"Outstanding service from all involved"
