"Gastroscopy was a piece of cake. "

On Thursday 13th February I attended the Gastroscopy department (within the treatment centre) I had attended alone as my husband had been called into work. I was a little anxious as I was to have a procedure that was new to me.

From the minute I attended at the reception to the minute I left I was treated with the utmost care & respect I have ever had within a NHS facility, he whole atmosphere was calm & relaxed, which put me at ease. All the staff I had encountered were very professional, caring, informative, gentle and very reassuring. My procedure was performed with the utmost skill of the nurse and her staff and I had no pain or discomfort afterwards.

My husband was unable to collect me as I’d had sedation and I wasn’t allowed to leave alone, a nurse kindly escorted me out of the department to find and meet my neighbour who had come to collect me.

Honestly I cannot praise the department and all the staff more highly and take pleasure in writing this note. Please pass on my comments to everyone in the department because the staff were truly amazing.
