"Both giving birth experiences"

About: Peterhead Community Hospital / Maternity

(as the patient),

August 2017 I gave birth to my first daughter at Peterhead Maternity Hospital. July 2019 I gave birth to my second daughter at Peterhead Maternity Hospital.

I was made to feel comfortable and completely at ease. Nothing was too much bother and the care was first class. The nurses and midwives are kind hearted and I couldn’t have been made to feel more welcome.

In August 2017 the unit was undergoing refurbishment but this didn’t affect the quality of care in the slightest.

On return in July 2019 the refurbishment was complete and I was able to use the new facilities. The use of the pool for a water birth was fantastic.

Dear EmzR

Thank you so much for taking the time to feedback on both your daughters births, the team and our lovely facilities in Peterhead CMU. I will ensure this feedback is shared with them all and they will be delighted. I'm glad staff welcomed you and were kind. I'm pleased to hear that during the upgrading of the unit this did not impact on your experience.

The 2 pools that were installed recently give women a choice to birth in water or to use during labour and I'm delighted you used the facilities.

Wishing you much happiness and thank you again for your feedback

Rachael MacDonald
