"Horrendous "

About: Fairfield General Hospital

A complaint will be following this - although my dad had been admitted to ward 7 he didn't actually get there, instead A & E sent him home after 12 hours without food or water (he is a diabetic) instead of taking him to the ward. They sent him home in an ambulance as he was unable to walk due to a water infection, in nothing but a shirt and a blanket because all his clothes were wet. Words fail me I wouldn't let them treat my dog.

Thank you for taking the time to share your comments.

We were very sorry to learn of your Dad’s unsatisfactory experience within our A&E department. We hope we can assure you that the Trust strives to provide patients with excellent care and experience, so we are sorry that we did not achieve it for your Dad on this occasion.

Your comments have been escalated to the Senior Management Team to review who will filter this down to the A&E team to raise at their next team meeting and would also like to offer you a meeting to raise your concerns.

If you would like to take up the offer of the meeting please get in touch with PALS on telephone 0161 604 5897, or email pals@pat.nhs.uk quoting you have been advised to do so via the NHS Website. We look forward to hearing from you.

Kind regards

The Patient Experience Team
