"Lovely Friendly practise and brilliant GP"

About: Richmond Surgery

I am registered with the doctor at Richmond surgery. I have very complex and unique health problems and disability. The doctor is by far the best, most dedicated, genuinely invested in helping me, genuinely caring and amazingly supportive. He does not simply quickly see you and give you medications and rush you out the door like so many other GPs I have had in my life! When I moved into his surgery area 4 yrs ago, I was already a complicated patient with a rare nerve disability, since then I have developed another Chronic Health problem. But despite me needing fortnightly reviews, medications and the frequency of Consultant letters and hospital discharges, there is no shortage of time consuming work that the doctor has to do to keep up with my case. But he never gets behind, when ever I see him he remembers more than just my medical things, but also like the last time I went on a holiday for example. He also supports me greatly with my management of my depression, and keeps track of all the outside stresses in my life such as family illnesses and the like.

I can totally confidently say that I have never had a better doctor taking care of me and my health. And as some one who has been in and out of hospital all my life, in 2 different countries, literally being treated by hundreds of different doctors over the years, and without doubt this doctor is the best.

As far as appointment availability goes, and even the need for an urgent appointment goes the surgery is brilliant. The reception staff and secretaries are all very friendly and helpful, as well as knowledge on the procedures and basic medical advise, so they are able to help you get the right person or appointment etc.

The Well-being Pharmacy which is in the same premises, is extremely handy and they have a good cooperating working relationship. And like the surgery, it too has lovely friendly staff who go the extra mile to help. However in recent months they have had new staff begin at the pharmacy which has caused some frustration to lots of their customers as they seem to make lots of mistakes and this results in long waiting times to collect medicines, missed orders, incorrect items each. These new employees seem to make extra work for the original staff members, who have to fix the problems left behind By the new staff. But if you are lucky to get seen by the original staff members, you will no doubt have a flawless experience.

Dear Mr Thomas

What an amazing review you have posted! We are extremely grateful for your feedback and will ensure that your GP and all staff are made aware of your comments. As you can imagine such positive feedback always gives all members of Richmond such a boost especially with an industry that is increasingly busy and demanding.

We shall also ensure that your comments regarding the Pharmacy are passed to them. Whilst they are an independent business, we do indeed work closely with them and therefore we share feedback. Thank you again Mr Thomas for taking the time to post your comments.
