I am writing about the fantastic experience my son had at the radiology department at Hairmyres Hospital, today. My 18 year old son has autism and learning difficulties. I phoned ahead of the visit and spoke to one of the radiologists- she immediately put my mind at rest and reasssured me about my son coming along for the Xray, his disability did not phase her. I indicated which day would be suitable for me to bring my son.
On arrival, the receptionist explained that they were waiting for him, a radiologist was immediately told and within 5 minutes we were in the X-ray room. Both the radiologist and nurse were amazing- supportive, reassuring, nothing was a bother. X Rays done, we were out, the whole process not taking more than 15 minutes.
Thank you to everyone in the radiology department today, what seemed to me a daunting process was made easy and handled with compassion. THANK YOU.
