"A great service that should be utilised more"

Recently, both myself and my partner have had the unfortunate need to use the Minor Injuries Unit at Queen Margaret Hospital, myself with an infected wound and my partner with a head wound after an altercation with his car door. 

I attended with my infected wound in late January and after booking in (with a mildly rude receptionist) we were seen very quickly by the ENP (I can’t remember her name). Promptly I was given a new dressing and a course of Flucloxacillin for the soft tissue infection. Absolutely cracking service, in and out in under 20 minutes. The ENP was lovely and couldn’t have been more helpful. 

I also attended with my partner in February with a wound to his forehead. The department was busy but the staff were working through everyone very efficiently. The receptionist was absolutely lovely on this occasion. After a wait of about 20 minutes, we were called into the Triage Room, where ENP Nicola quickly assessed and cleaned the wound and closed it with glue and steristrips. Nicola was very caring and knowledgeable about the injury and gave excellent care and advice about aftercare. 

Overall, a great service that should be utilised more and we couldn’t be happier with the treatment we received.
