"My mother's experience"

About: University Hospital Wishaw / Physiotherapy University Hospital Wishaw / Respiratory Medicine (Ward 7)

(as a relative),

My mother is 88 years old and was admitted into Wishaw General Hospital in January, suffering from pneumonia. Despite the hospital being extremely busy, resulting in all the hospital staff being seriously overworked, my mum was consistently treated with kindness and respect, and provided with the appropriate medical assistance she required.

Since returning home, she has been looked after within a rehabilitation programme and has had excellent help from agencies including occupational therapy and physiotherapy. All the professionals involved have been extremely knowledgeable, kind and respectful.

The overall treatment and support which my mum has received have been exemplary.

Dear Daughter -L,

Thank you so much for taking the time to give such positive feedback. I will make sure you thanks are passed onto the hospital and community therapists. Having been involved in the creation of these new locality therapy teams, it is very encouraging to hear of the difference it has made to you and your mum. We wish your mum a continued recovery.

Kind regards to both of you,

Maureen

Dear Daughter-L

Many thanks for taking the time to post feedback on the care your mother received whilst being an inpatient here at University Hospital Wishaw, at what I am sure was a very worrying time for you and your family.

Your positive comments are very welcome and I will ensure they are fed back to the staff who work so hard in ensuring the care we deliver to patients is of a high standard and it is always nice to get positive feedback.

I indeed hope your mother is recuperating well at home and am pleased to hear of the continued support from our fellow colleagues.

Thank you once again and Best Wishes.

Regards

Faith
