"Food available for restricted diet "

About: Sunderland Royal Hospital

Well that's a week under my belt now of hospital food. I'm no stranger to hospital food having spent many weeks in hospital for acute injuries and many operations. Over the years we have gone from trolley food to ordering from a menu the night before and now back to trolley once again. Hot food was always a problem in hospital, that just warm bland food is still here and that was confirmed yet again on the plate today. When you are on a restricted diet, ( my choice) you look forward to a meal that most people like. Only to be served uncooked chips indigestion provoking breadcrumb fish and peashooter peas. Now I may sound ungreatfull but which is the worst me throwing food in the bin or those supplying it. Now not every meal is bad but every cold meal is unless it's a salad, the consequence of this is patients reaching for junk food to satisfying their hunger.
