"My mum's care"

About: Homerton University Hospital / General medicine Stamford Hill Group Practice The Allerton Road Surgery

(as a relative),

My mother was diagnosed with cancer in November 2018.  As to be expected she was shocked and very worried.  Her GP at Allerton Road Medical Centre was not very sympathetic and her requests took a LONG time to process.

At Homerton the staff were excellent and caring.  But nothing can compare to the care and concern received by David, the head of the INR clinic in Stamford Hill Medical centre.  He was so gentle and professional when taking her blood.  He understood it was hard for her to walk and agreed to see her at home.  He was so helpful when it came to arranging district nurses for her and he is to be commended for his fine bedside manner.  My mum, an 83 year old is so grateful to him.

Everyone - everywhere please treat patients with respect, dignity and patience.  They have feelings and are very vulnerable.  Thank you.
