I was taken by ambulance to Heartlands Hospital; they were so compassionate and calming. It took a while for treatment however I was admitted after the results of a blood test showed I had an infection in my pancreas.
Not expecting it to be that serious I had not brought any clothes etc. to the hospital. The nursing team provided Pj's and a kind nurse even allowed me to borrow their mobile phone charger for the night.
The nursing, porter, and ultrasound team were lovely. I did have a small problem of the Dr. not following through on what he said he would do, but when I raised this, the Dr returned and sorted the problem which put my mind at rest.
I wanted to say thank you to the team at West Midlands Ambulance Service, Heartlands hospital for my care and all that they do each day. My only criticism was the hospital toilets were filthy in the general areas. The ward toilet was fine.
