"Not a great experience"

About: Golden Jubilee National Hospital / Interventional Cardiology

(as a relative),

We have been waiting since September for an admission date. Having been told that he is very high risk he could have heart attack/stroke or just die. Found he had diabetes but we got that controlled very quickly.

Time scale is meant to be 12 weeks but this has not been true. As it is now running at 16 weeks plus.

Having been told it would be expedited or so surgeon said.

Were told would be mid February. However due to unplanned staff leave, we are now being told late February.

This is not a great experience after being told months ago that he was very high risk. The strain this is putting on me and children is really bad. I wake up wondering if he is going to be alive or dead beside me every morning.

This originally was a referral from local hospital in June 2019.

So far we have travelled 4 times for various appointments to GJH.

Dear Mr Partner,

I am really sorry to hear of the patient journey and waiting time for surgery. I would like to be able to help in any way that I can. To allow me to do this I need the patient details, name and date of birth. Please can you contact me on 0141 951 5951, alternatively email feedback@gjnh.scot.nhs.uk to allow me to look into this further.

Regards

Paula
