"Excellent Consultant"

I had a surgical procedure with one of the General Surgeons at SOH last month. From my initial out patient visit through to date of surgery everything was handled in a professional manner with phone calls and letters. The staff were helpful and polite, especially the catering staff. The clinical and nursing staff offered their expertise at all times especially prior to going into theatre which can be an anxious time no matter how minor the surgery is. The consultant and anaethetist attended prior to surgery and after surgery to check that I was comfortable and the consultant attended the next morning, again to check that everything was Ok. It is reassuring to know that there are still kind and professional staff available to offer assistance. The night staff were particularly helpful. I didn't have a comfortable night not because of the bed, or anything like that but when I did hear the buzzer going from another room it didn't sound for ages which obviously meant the problem was being addressed. After the consultant saw me in the morning after the procedure he reassured me and I was provided with the follow up appointment and all the information I would need until then. Thank you.
