"Patient care. "

About: Sydenham Group Practice

Came in and must of been the last apt of the day, there was a delay on appointment time but that is to be expected. However, when I went into the surgery it was a young GP and he asked me what my problems are. I explained I had 3 issues that are on going and haven't been resolved as every visit I feel as though they fob me off with the same "change your diet rubbish" after constantly explaining my diet is healthy and balanced. Anyways, I explained I had 3 issues and he turned around to me and said if you have 3 issues you need 3 appointments as can only deal with 1 issue per apt. I obviously said this is ridiculous as it takes over a month to get in for 1 visit and its time out of work and pay to be told "change your diet". He kept saying he cant help me with all my problems just one specific as he hasn't got time? I was his last patient of the day and he hasn't got time?! where is the patient care in that? As a NHS professional myself I aware time is needed for notes but your JOB is to look after patients and give them the care and help that they are requesting. Don't do the job if you are not passionate and only in it for the money. As I said I cant come in for another 2 appointments as its time out of work when I am here now and can just tell you now he just smirked at me and shrugged and said well that's how it goes. No. sorry but I don't think that is how it goes. Also as soon as i said that i smoke occasionally he blamed ALL my problems down to smoking. Ridiculous. I have been coming to Sydenham all my life and it goes down hill more and more every year. from the GP's to the reception. Appalling service and lack of patient care. Waste of time to just receive a cant be bothered don't care attitude. Maybe when its too late and something gets serious they will actually care and be passionate. The only good thing about Sydenham is the Nurses and sometimes I think they actually know a lot more than the GP's themselves.
