"Occupational Therapy in Primary Care"

About: Ayrshire & Arran Community Services / Community Mental Health Team General practices in Ayrshire & Arran Occupational Therapy

(as a service user),

I have received occupational therapy in primary care at the end of 2019 and the start of 2020. I want to express my gratitude that this service was and is available to me, and has helped to support me throughout a time when I've needed it most. I think it's truly a wonderful thing that occupational therapy is becoming more available and accessible to people and it should not be underestimated how valuable that is. My therapist (Claire) has been empathetic and supportive, along with having a great understanding of the conditions people face and how to combat said conditions (in my case, for example, CPTSD. ) I hope that more and more people are exposed to this type of care as it could lead us to a much healthier and happier population.

Many Thanks Yousei for taking the time to write such a positive story on your experience with our Occupational Therapist in primary care. I am especially pleased as Occupational Therapists working in GP practises is a recent development hence your feedback is extremely welcome.

Thank you again....

Aileen
