"Moved from a bed to a seat"

About: Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust - Queen's Medical Centre Campus / General medicine

(as the patient),

Went for a endoscopy on Monday and was supposed to be staying in overnight.

After endoscopy and short recovery time i was moved from the bed to a seat in what can only be described aa a storage room. After sitting there for nearly 3hrs without a word from anybody i decided was time to go home so i discharged myself.

My sister is in prison, she has a ensuite room with tv.I go to hospital and get moved to a storage room. Was no talk of how much longer i was supposed to sit there, but seems the endoscopy department were not made aware i was staying in overnight so seems nothing had been arranged.

The endoscopy procedure itself after a false start was done very professionally.

Thank you for getting in touch with us about your experience in our Endoscopy Department. I’m sorry to hear that there was clearly a failure in communication regarding your aftercare following your procedure. If you would like to get in touch to discuss what happened so we can learn from your experience please feel free to contact me on 0115 924 9924 ext 87561.

Kind regards
